Adaptation And The New Risk Realtiy

Gabrielle Walker

The chief consequences of our changing climate—more frequent and severe storms, extreme heatwaves and droughts, and higher sea levels—are already affecting global infrastructure and communities. Most of the efforts of both policy makers and businesses to tackle this challenge focus trying to prevent further changes by reducing emissions. However, many businesses do not yet appreciate that to be competitive in this new risk reality, they will also need to become more resilient, and more prepared to adapt to the changes that are already inevitable. Gabrielle has been working closely with the Global CEO of DNV GL and his team to help businesses understand this imperative, and decide how to strengthen the resilience of their activities, supply chains, and the communities in which they operate.
